Isolation

Last night I lied awake
and relived history

Retraced every choice I’ve made
unveiling life‘s grand mystery

With distance comes perspective
of who we are and ought to be

But what my quest revealed most
in this empty room of me

Was not the future time revoked
but the souls I ever long to see
